Mobile Clay Bar Treatment

Clay bar treatment for glass-smooth paint.

Washing doesn't remove everything. A clay bar lifts the bonded contaminants, road film and overspray stuck in your paint, so it feels smooth and protection bonds properly.

What it costs

Add-on from $50

Clay bar treatment is $50 to $80 as an add-on, and it's included as needed in our Premium exterior and full details.

How we do it

Clay Bar Treatment, step by step

  1. Wash

We wash first so the clay only has to deal with what's bonded to the paint.

  2. Lubricate and clay

Each panel is sprayed with lubricant and the clay glides over it, pulling contaminants out.

  3. Check by feel

We feel each panel to make sure the surface is smooth before moving on.

  4. Protect

Freshly clayed paint is bare, so we finish with spray wax, sealant or a spray ceramic coating.

FAQ

Common questions

How do I know if my car needs a clay bar?

Put your hand in a thin plastic sandwich bag and lightly run it over clean paint. If it feels gritty or rough, there are bonded contaminants a clay bar will remove.

Can a clay bar damage paint?

Done with plenty of lubricant and a clean clay, it's safe. We use plenty of lubricant and work carefully on every panel.

How often should I clay my car?

For most daily drivers, once or twice a year is plenty, and always before a sealant or coating goes on.
